
Sarah Day – Footwear Industry & Education Professional, and current Chairman of the Cordwainers Trade & Education Committee, graduated from the original Cordwainers Technical College in the 1980s. The youngest student accepted onto the Footwear course at the time, with a dynamic peer group of the era including Patrick Cox, Emma Hope and John Moore. Sarah has enjoyed a prolific commercial presence both as an Employee and Consultant with a resume, including Clarks, and Pentland PLC’s brands, such as Pony and Lacoste. Recently retired from a 20 year tenure at Cordwainers at London College of Fashion leading the Cordwainers BA Footwear course and mentoring students and staff alike. She is also the External Examiner for Capel Manor College in North London, for the 1 year Intro to Higher Education Footwear course.
Sarah is a Liveryman of the Cordwainers livery company. Named in 2023 by the British Footwear Association on their Fab 50 list, Sarah is an avid supporter of Footwear education, promoting this by running workshops all over the country with High schools and FE colleges to inspire and raise awareness of specialist Course subjects like Footwear. Sarah has a goal to enthuse others with the same passion for shoes and education as she has and hopes inspire others with the same excitement and energy.
