Founded in Lewes in 1880, borne from a love story between Albion Russell’s daughter, Elizabeth and George Bromley, the business today remains family owned, operated and proudly independent.
Andrew joined the family business in 1996 after starting his career as a chartered accountant. His introduction to Russell & Bromley saw him experience operations on every level from shop floor to head office functions, in order to build a solid knowledge and deep understanding of the brand.
In early 2025 Andrew announced, ‘Russell & Bromley ReBoot’, an ambitious 5-year turnaround plan that promises to return the brand to sustained profitable growth through a series of strategic actions. 2024 already saw huge advances in this strategic roll-out to ready the business for stabilisation in 2025.
The appointment of Daniel Beardsworth-Shaw as the brand's first creative director coincided with a relocation of the Global HQ to Kingly Street W1, in the heart of London’s Soho, now home to a dedicated design and creative studio for the first time. This strategic move aims to enhance Russell & Bromley's product design and visual identity, marking a significant step in the company's transformation plans.
Andrew has recently been featured on Drapers Power 100 List 2024 and during his tenure has established a reputation as a respected brand guardian and an authority figure in the footwear & accessories industry.
